Sir Richard L. Canionero pleaded not guilty Tuesday to burglary, kidnapping, attempted first-degree sex assault, second-degree sex assault and three counts of third-degree sex assault for the alleged Oct. 9 attack.

Hilo Circuit Judge Glenn Hara ordered Canionero to appear for trial at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9 and maintained his bail at $36,000.

He also ordered Canionero not to contact, threaten or harm the complainant or the property owner and to stay away from the home.
